More bad news was released today about the future of newspapers and publishing. The New York Times released this story about the dropping revenues and circulation of major daily newspapers in the country. It doesn’t look good.
For you folks who prefer pictures = this picture or graphic says a thousand words.
I always figured the newspaper business was secure because there would always be news. I guess what I didn’t figure – and what a lot of other people didn’t figure – is that the revenue to support newspapers wouldn’t always be there.
Apparently it’s not and it’s dropping more and more everyday. I’m getting more and more concerned everyday. The internet and instantaneous news gratification is putting a hurting on newspapers as well as classified Web sites. Times are getting tough.

Nothing beats the weekend newspaper, not the Internet, iPod, or Kindle. The smell of print, that weight of paper spread out on the floor.
Thanks, I totally agree. One of my earliest memories of newspapers was getting the Sunday paper early and spreading it out all over the living room floor with my dad and reading it together.
